I designed a clean, elegant site that streamlined content, showcased key offerings, and strategically guided users to book a consultation, turning visual sophistication into measurable business results.

Like every well-designed website, I ensured the Down to Earth Cuisine site was fully responsive across all devices. Selecting the right on-demand platform was key, allowing the client’s team to easily manage updates after launch. With this setup, maintaining and adjusting each device view is simple, efficient, and intuitive.

A WEBSITE GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT

David Boyd is a masterful chef who offers weekly meal services for people and pets, private in-home dining experiences, and event catering. With more than fifteen years of experience leading fine-dining kitchens, he launched Down to Earth Cuisine to bring his culinary vision directly to clients. Early on, a basic website was created to establish an online presence, but as the business grew, it became clear the brand needed a digital experience that matched the sophistication of David’s award-winning cuisine. I was brought in to redesign the site, creating a modern, visually refined platform that could later be managed and updated by his in-house team.

The homepage immediately shows stunning imagery of Chef David's award winning plating, so, first thing, the end user sees that they will be getting a haute-cuisine experience.

Answering common questions ASAP encourages the end-user to stay on the site, as their experience turns from mystery to intrigue.

Showing the team was pivotal for the target market to understand that David's operation is large enough to handle the big functions and diverse enough to accommodate any palette

Testimonials reinforce that greatness is observed by the most important people: customers like you. And Instagram galleries show business is busy and well connected, plus capable of cross promotion for B2B engagement.

To add credibility to Chef's services, I placed a reasonable amount of professional associations on the site, but made them non-clickable to keep viewers on the site

Many times the first interaction a customer has with a brand is the website. When working with Chef David, we made it our job to create a site that displayed visual  excellence comparable to the quality of Chef David's work.

A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

I recognized that mobile users needed to absorb more information with fewer clicks, which led to the creation of the combined Services and Chefs page. Focus group insights revealed that most visitors first looked for pricing and service details, then wanted to learn about the chefs. Bringing this content together on one page created a seamless, user-friendly experience that aligned with real user behavior.

Many clients want to manage their websites independently after launch, and I set them up for success to do so. I select the most suitable on-demand platform for each client’s needs or design within their existing system when that approach makes the most sense. This ensures flexibility, ease of use, and long-term sustainability for their digital presence.

One of the best ways to attract clients to Down to Earth Cuisine is to let clients know that Chef David will meet them where they're at..quite literally by cooking in their home and also through dietary needs.

This menus page informs viewers that their unique dietary desires could be met with tasty, one of a kind food.

VISUALLY EDUCATING THE TARGET AUDIENCE

As the saying goes, “We eat with our eyes before our mouths.” That idea guided my design approach for Down to Earth Cuisine. My goal was to visually persuade potential clients to choose Chef David for personal chef services and weekly meal plans by showcasing the beauty and craftsmanship of his cuisine. I incorporated custom video, original photography, refined copywriting, and a clean, modern layout to communicate the care and professionalism that define his brand. Every detail of the site reflects Chef David’s dedication to excellence in both his culinary work and the way his business is presented to the world.
